Relationship Chart and Trust

You can check which officers you have strong relations with on the Relationship Chart.
Good relationships can be of great benefit in many situations. There are also destined relationships that can be Synergetic or Antagonistic.

Trust

You can improve your trust levels with other officers by interacting with them, holding banquets, and collaborating on domestic actions.
There are seven levels of trust. From lowest to highest, they are: Hostile < Disinterested < Unaware < Acquainted < Friendly < Trusting < Devoted.
Increasing your trust with other officers will earn you their assistance with training and on missions, as well as enable you to establish special relationships such as marriage and sworn sibling bonds.

Note: "Unaware" is only applicable to officers who haven't met. Once they meet, the relationship will never return to "Unaware".

Benefits of Improving Trust Levels

  • · Able to establish special relationships, such as marriage and sworn sibling bonds
  • · Close officers can link with you during domestic actions and training
  • · Receive Wisdom from "Devoted" officers whose trust is at maximum

How to Improve Trust Levels

  • · Have conversations or give gifts when interacting with officers at home or the inn
  • · Hold banquets from home

Devoted Officers and Imparted Wisdom

You need a Symbol of Friendship to earn an officer's devotion. Symbols of Friendship can be acquired when public attitude in a city facility reaches 100.
When an officer's trust level is "Trusting," raise their trust to maximum and gift them a Symbol of Friendship. This will turn your relationship into a "Devoted" one, and the officer will impart Wisdom onto you.
"Devoted" officers will also impart Wisdom each time the Devotion Gauge is filled. The type of Wisdom passed on varies depending on the officer.

Linking and Assistance

Officers with high trust will sometimes link with you or offer you their assistance.
Both linking and assistance will give you an advantage in various situations.

Linking

Links may be formed between officers with a trust level of "Trusting" and above, as well as officers with Synergetic relationships.
They can occur and grant benefits during missions, training, and battles.

Assistance

Synergetic officers, spouses, and sworn siblings can lend you their aid in a wide variety of situations.
This can include giving you gold and setting up advantageous meetings for you, among other useful effects, and may be provided during parliament sessions, in cities, and in battles.

Sworn Siblings

Holding discussions with "Devoted" officers may allow you to become sworn siblings.
You can have up to three sworn siblings.

    etc.

After a child is born, various special events regarding child-rearing will occur up until the child reaches sixteen years of age.

If you are a part of a force, your child will join the same force when they turn sixteen.
At this point, you can change the character you control to the child.

You may be challenged to a duel when you and your sworn enemy meet.

Synergetic

People with whom you can have a relationship based on mutual sympathy and attraction.
Occurs incidentally when you meet or interact with an officer.
A Synergetic relationship will occur when Sympathy is triggered four times while interacting with the same officer. It also occurs when you form special relationships, such as marriage and sworn sibling bonds.
The more compatible two officers are to begin with, the more likely it is that Sympathy will be triggered.

If your reputation level is low, you will only have up to four slots for Synergetic relationships.
You will unlock additional slots when your maximum reputation reaches 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 (maximum 8 slots).
Spouses and sworn siblings also count as Synergetic relationships but do not take up slots.

    etc.

However, there are some rare events that will allow you to resolve an Antagonistic relationship with an officer of your choice.
