How to Start Sieges

Victory Conditions War Council

If the enemy castle is a main base or defensive base, a siege will take place. Victory will cause the castle to fall.
In a siege, many units gather on one battlefield to fight.
During a castle assault, Siege Ready will be displayed. At that time, select the unit and then select Siege to start the siege.
Before the battle begins, a war council will take place.

*Issuing the System Reform II policy will allow the possibility of a siege when defending your main base. You will also be able to designate castles as defensive bases.
*The types of equipment that can be added to your main base and designated defensive bases after issuing the System Reform II policy will depend on the land holder or substitute.
*The defending side cannot initiate a siege. Sieges are only initiated by the attacking side.
*A siege cannot be initiated if the castle's lord is not present or if there are insufficient soldiers.

Victory Conditions

Victory is achieved by fulfilling the victory conditions.
In a siege, the defending side is at an advantage. In order to win a siege, the attacking side should consider bringing at least three times as many soldiers as the defenders.

*Authority may be activated upon victory.

Authority

Victory Conditions for the Attackers

  • Destroy the citadel
  • Defeat all enemy units
  • Defeat the enemy daimyō
  • Force the enemy lord to surrender (only when surrender is the target)

*Upon victory, the attacking side can acquire the defending side's supplies.

Victory Conditions for the Defenders

  • Deplete total enemy morale to 0
  • Defeat all enemy units
  • Defeat the enemy daimyō

Surrender of the Lord

If the attackers have enough strength or if the officer's loyalty is low enough, the castle's lord may surrender. A surrender target will become available, and upon reaching it, the surrender will occur.
Lords that have surrendered can be captured with absolute certainty.

*If the lord is defeated before reaching the surrender target, they will not surrender.

War Council

You can change the grouping of your units during war council.

Attackers

On the attacking side, units in the surrounding area will join the fight. Setting up a roadblock will increase the number of units able to march (up to 16 units).

Defenders

On the defending side, the land holders or substitutes affiliated with the castle will join the fight. A unit will join for each land holder or substitute.

*If any assistance bases have been designated, they will automatically add their soldier count to that of the main base or defensive base.
