Natural Occurrences Territorial Problems Revolts Diplomatic Messengers Children and Adoption Events Clan Targets Direct Talks Event Battles
Various events will occur based on the time of year and your clan's conditions.
Natural Occurrences
Events like disasters and bounties will sometimes take place.
*Disasters can be prevented by means of your issued policies, town facilities, and conservator traits.
Flood | Occurs in May. Seized fairs are all lost, but they can be reclaimed in a shortened time span. |
---|---|
Typhoon | Occurs in June. Seized farms are all lost, but they can be reclaimed in a shortened time span. |
Famine | Occurs in July. Crops decrease temporarily, affecting harvest and soldier count. |
Bounty | Occurs in July. Crops increase temporarily, affecting harvest and soldier count. |
Territorial Problems
Various problems can arise in counties.
These situations will only grow worse if left unattended, while resolving the issues can produce good outcomes.
Territorial Devastation | This occurs in counties affected by war, covert actions, or natural disasters. Affected counties will temporarily stop producing harvests and earning gold, and revolts could break out. This problem will be resolved after a time. However, dispatching an officer will greatly shorten the time needed. |
---|---|
Border Dispute | This occurs when a lord has the Hot-Blooded trait or when their VAL is 60 or above while their INT is below 60. All the counties of the affected castle will temporarily stop producing harvests and earning gold. If left unattended, they will march to occupy the enemy county. If they manage to occupy the enemy county, they may continue marching and eventually assault the enemy castle. Dispatching an officer will greatly shorten the time needed for the problem to be resolved. |
Addition of Major Settlements | This occurs when a certain number of settlements have been seized or added. You will receive a suggestion to add a major settlement. Dispatching an officer to add a major settlement will give the county its effect upon completion. Adding major settlements will make it possible to issue special policies. |
Landmark | This occurs when a landmark has been stolen and is seized once again, or when a landmark's LV has risen. Seizing landmarks will produce various effects. If a county with a landmark becomes occupied by another clan, it will become unseized. To re-seize the landmark, you must first reclaim the lost county and resolve the territorial problem. Resolving territorial problems and raising the landmark's LV will increase its effect. |
Revolts
Revolts can occur as a result of territorial problems or enemy covert actions.
It is important to repress revolts occurring in your territory quickly.
Specifics
- Units cannot march from counties where a revolt is occurring.
- Seized settlements will gradually be removed from counties where a revolt is occurring.
- Unchecked revolts will spread into surrounding counties.
- A unit can be temporarily garrisoned to repress the revolt.
- If capable, the lord may march to repress the revolt.
- Counties suffering a revolt will be occupied immediately if attacked.
- The LV of a landmark will decrease if a revolt occurs. It will continue to fall if the revolt is left unchecked.
Diplomatic Messengers
At times, you will be visited by messengers from other clans or the Imperial Court.
When a messenger approaches you with an appeal, you can either agree or refuse their offer.
*Some clans will not be able to perform diplomacy with the Imperial Court initially. However, it will become available if you offer gold to the messenger who occasionally visits.
Children and Adoption
Officers can adopt and give birth to children. The child will come of age after a number of years passes.
Unlike officers, Hime are incapable of performing many commands. They can become the daimyō's concubine or be married to retainers. Marriage alliances can also be formed by marrying a Hime to the daimyō of another clan.
Some women are both Hime and female officers. These female officers can be treated the same as your other officers.
*All female characters can be set as femaile officers by turning the setting under Scenario > Female Officer to ON. If the setting is disabled, all women will be a Hime with only a few exceptions.
Events
Certain events will occur in-game when the necessary requirements have been fulfilled. There are both events taken from history and fictional events.
You can view the conditions that trigger each event in the Event List from the support commands. Turning the events OFF will prevent them from triggering.
*Events that would result in the destruction of the player's clan are set to OFF by default.
*You may be presented with choices that will alter your situation.
Clan Targets
When clan targets are completed, you can earn letters of commendation and other rewards.
You can view details and rewards by accessing Report > Clan Target from the support commands.
Completion Reward | A letter of commendation will be earned. Officers who gain achievements can receive letters of commendation and aliases, which will raise their loyalty and honor. Aliases will also improve an officer's abilities and can bestow special effects. Access Council > Honor Commendation > Accolade > Letter of Commendation from the command menu to give an officer a letter of commendation. |
---|---|
Special Reward | A special reward that affects the entire clan. These can include making the Postal System and Gunji System policies available, increasing the amount of labor, and enabling the purchase of valuable treasures. |
Small Target Submissions
Small target submissions will often suggest actions such as adding town facilities or expanding your domain.
If the target is completed, the officer who submitted the suggestion will acquire honor.
Direct Talks
Many scenarios, like employment and diplomacy, may trigger a direct talk. During a direct talk, the daimyō can present offers for negotiation.
You are not required to respond to direct talks, but successful negotiation can earn many effects, like preventing an officer from absconding or employing an enemy lord.
Direct talks will occur more easily when you have treasures, official posts, or transferable dominions to offer.
Rules of Direct Talks
- Offering something with your suggestion will raise the negotiation score.
- The direct talk will be successful if the negotiation score exceeds a certain value.
- The results gained depend on the negotiation score.
- The other party may demand certain negotiation details.
- Designated demands have a high negotiation score and cannot be refused.
Officer Mentality
An officer's mentality will determine how active or passive they are during negotiation.
There are five levels to mentality: Assertive > Interested > Neutral > Cautious > Passive. The more assertive an officer is, the easier it will be to raise the negotiation score; their demands may also be simpler.
Officer Demands
An officer's requested items or preferences will be displayed in Demands. Making an offer that meets their demand will raise the negotiation score higher than normal.
*When the officer's mentality is Assertive, the demand may be simple.
*Negotiation offers that meet a demand will be highlighted with a blue circle.
Event Battles
Fulfilling the necessary requirements during the game will trigger an event battle.
In certain historically based events, such as the Battle of Okehazama or the Battle of Sekigahara, participating officers and soldier counts cannot be changed.
You may find yourself controlling a clan that was historically on the losing side of the battle. Gaining victory will allow you to enjoy an original development.
*In event battles, policies and certain traits will have no effect.
