Combat

Combat Basics

Combat Flow

Enemies will sometimes engage you in combat while you are gathering or traveling to your destination.
During combat, characters can perform actions when it is their turn.

Victory and Defeat

Reduce all of the enemies' HP to zero to win the battle and claim experience and ingredient rewards.
If all of your allies' HP is reduced to zero, you will be defeated.
Losing will return you to the atelier, and some of your equipped items will be lost.

Formation Effects

Formation refers to your characters' positions on the field.
It impacts their stats and effectiveness in battle.
You can change your formation with Order on the combat screen or from Camp in a gathering area.

First Line Increases physical attack and magic defense but reduces magic attack and physical defense.
Second Line Stats are unchanged.
Third Line Increases magic attack and physical defense but reduces physical attack and magic defense.
