BURLINGAME, Calif. – July 31, 2024 – Today, KOEI TECMO America and developer Gust revealed new information about the main characters of FAIRY TAIL 2, an upcoming action RPG based on the popular franchise FAIRY TAIL. In addition, fans can catch a glimpse of the game’s original story, “The Key to the Unknown” through newly released images that feature events taking place after the final battle of the original work depicted in the manga. A direct sequel to KOEI TECMO’s 2020 adventure, FAIRY TAIL 2 is currently in development for the PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™, and Windows PC via Steam®, and is set to be released this winter.
In FAIRY TAIL 2, players will take control of Natsu and other members of the Fairy Tail guild, including iconic characters such as Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Wendy as they journey seamlessly across the vast fields of the Kingdom of Fiore. Together, they’ll fight in flashy magical battles against their arch nemesis, Emperor Zeref of the Alvarez Empire, and the Spriggan 12, a group of formidable mages which includes the likes of Irene, Ajeel, Dimaria, and Brandish.
As the game progresses, not only will fans be able to relive the climax of the final chapter of the Alvarez Empire Arc, but they will also discover a series of all-new events that follow the manga’s final battle in the original chapter, “The Key to the Unknown”, a storyline completely unique to FAIRY TAIL 2.
